I gave my aptitude test in which there were 3 sections: Verbal, Quant and Logic
After that, They shortlisted people on basis of scores. Next round was coding round in which there were 3 questions and time limit was 1 hr.
One was 8 marks and other 2 were 5 marks each. Online compiler allocated the marks based on time and space complexity.
Questions are:
1. Find the contiguous maximum Sum of all numbers in an array.
Sum=0
MaxSum=0
For(i=0;i <n ;i++)
Sum+=A[I]
If (Sum>MaxSum)
MaxSum=Sum
If (Sum<0)
MaxSum=0
Return MaxSum(after loop ends)
2. Polynomial multiplication using linked list.
3. convert an integer array into character array and sort it.
I coded 1st question without wasting any time and space I. e. most efficient. Rest all I didn’t get the output. But 80% my logic was right.
After coding round, they shortlisted us for interview.
1st interview: Tech
He asked me to code those 2 questions which I couldn’t complete during coding round. Later I was briefing him about my project in JP morgan code for good challenge. Tools and technologies used. Etc. Get your C++ detailed concepts clear. (Polymorphism, Data abstraction, encapsulation, Classes, Objects, Arrays as well as POINTERS)He asked me pointers in depth.
Study Data structure as well. He asked me DFS BFS (Just the logic).
Then he asked to solve a database query.
Find employee who has second maximum salary from employee table given.
Select EId from table where exists (select top 1 from table where sal<MAX(sal) order by DESC )
He asked me whether I had been to banglore before. I took it as a hint.
2nd interview:Tech
Purely OS. Page replacement and placement policies, semaphores, monitors, Memory management, Computer architecture diag, DMA concepts, segmentation, Paging
He was guiding me about Samsung work environment. In Both the rounds I got a hint from interviewer that I would be selected.
Please study the concepts in detail.
Since it is a core company, They need people who have in depth knowledge of programming.
Just be good in logic. Even if you don’t know the syntax just write the logic and explain him the steps. He will help you to solve it.
3rd interview:HR
It just lasted 5 mins. Asked me about my family background, extracurricular activities, etc
He also asked me y was my cpi low in 1st year of engineering. He told me cpi should not fall below 8. Mine was 8. 3.
I was too happy to hear that I got selected. Most outstanding feeling ever!!!
All the best and do well. Just be confident when you explain the logic. He might twist you but be sure whatever you speak.
